On September 17th, 2026, the sad news of, UK Hip-Hop pioneer, Sway DaSafo's passing (only 12 days after his 44th birthday). If you happened to be lucky enough to grow up during the 'Channel U' era, in the early to mid 00's, then you would know exactly who Sway is and just how important he was to the UK scene at the time. A genuine talent who could easily draw you in with, not only his incredible flow, but his unmatched creativity which was highlighted on his superb 'This is My Promo' Vol. 1 and 2 mixtapes which, even to this very day, are two of the greatest mixtapes ever pressed on to a compact disc!!! Sway & Baby Blue 'Love Story 05' Whether it was through his own solo work, collaborations or guest features (his show stealing verse on The Mitchell Brothers 'Harvey Nicks' anyone?) he was one of the best at what he did.
