WWE NXT Presents 'NXT 2300' (Results + Recap)

We rarely cover the results, and recaps, of Pro Wrestling television shows (unless they are specific specials like 'Halloween Havoc', 'Battle Of The Belts' ect. for 'The R.A.W Report) but it was EXTREMELY (see what we did there) hard to ignore the NXT brands invasion of the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia!!!

For those who don't know (which you should by the way), from 1993 - 2000, the 2300 Arena was home to Eastern/Extreme Championship Wrestling and known as the 'ECW Arena'!!!

The arena has been home to many, many Pro Wrestling companies since the original ECW's closing, in 2001, and has gone under many names however real fans will always refer to it as the home of ECW!!!

On Wednesday night, November 6th, WWE's NXT brand came live from the arena, and broadcast live on the CW, and featured a number of appearances from ECW Originals such as Rob Van Dam, Bubba Ray Dudley (or Bully Ray depending who you are), Rhyno, Nunzio, Dawn Marie and 'The Queen Of Extreme' Francine alongside NXT's top talent!!!

As many know WWE brought ECW back as its third brand, in 2006, and completely massacred the concept eventually closing it in 2010 (replacing it, funnily enough, with the first incarnation of NXT) however over the years the company has treated ECW's legacy with a lot more respect than it did during that 4 year period.

We believe the NXT/ECW connection is quite fitting, to be honest, as it is well known about the business relationship that WWF and ECW had in the late 90's in which, though never officially called one, ECW was like a developmental league, for the WWF, with stars like 2 Cold Scorpio, The Dudley Boyz,  Raven and Taz going off to enjoy decent careers in the Federation (well maybe not all of the mentioned) and of course the ill fated WWE ECW brand which started the concept of a smaller third brand, alongside RAW and SmackDown, to give talent that had outgrown, WWE's then developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling a place to work on national television (CM Punk, Sheamus, Kofi Kingston ect.) as well as giving older talent a place to work when their careers were starting to slow down (Goldust, Tommy Dreamer, Christian ect.).

If there was ever a promotion, around today, that has continued the legacy of ECW we would have said maybe Game Changer Wrestling or Ring Of Honor (well that's until COVID hit and Tony Khan ended up buying it and turning it into AEW's own developmental brand) but really, if you dig a little deeper, it's NXT!!!
